An older gentleman came in looking a little disheveled and down. Ken went over to talk to him and asked how he was doing. He said he was hungry. So Ken got him a table, handed him a menu, and made sure he felt at home. But it didn’t stop there. Ken and another customer sat down with him to chat. While Ken had to move around to take care of other things going on, the other guy stayed by the gentleman’s side throughout his meal, offering company and kindness. Ken had already decided the man’s meal was on the house, but something amazing happened: other customers began stepping up. Multiple people offered to pay for his dinner, showing incredible generosity without even knowing the full story. One young woman bought him a gift card to the Inn, and the gentleman who stayed with him during dinner handed him cash and offered his phone number, to help him if needs anything. It was a reminder of the power of community and how simple acts of kindness can ripple out into something much bigger. Last night, we witnessed the best of humanity here at the Inn, and it’s a moment we’ll never forget. Thank you to everyone who stepped up with open hearts.
